Höfn and Vatnajökull
Excursion package. Available for the "Through the North Atlantic" voyage. The excursions must be pre-booked. (Depending on availability, you may be able to book onboard.)
Join a thrilling excursion to see some of the natural wonders of East Iceland. From Djupivogur, we will drive to the traditional town of Höfn, and into Iceland’s wild back country towards the vast Vatnajökull Icecap. This is the largest glacier in Europe, and glacial tongues flow out from the ice cap towards the coast, where the glaciers break into icebergs in lagoons such as Hofellsjökull. Here, guests can experience walking on the glacial moraine, and enjoy the jaw-dropping views of the icebergs, lagoon, and glacier beyond. We will return to Djupivogur via the town of Höfn, where we will enjoy a traditional Icelandic lunch.
